Worth The Wait Granola

Granola is great and even better when you make it yourself. You can make it with almost anything in your pantry. You can make it regular, nutty, fruity and even coconut-y. I like it nutty and here's my nutty pecan recipe :)

Ingredients

Dry ingredients:

2 cups old fashion rolled oats (use gluten free oats for gluten free granola)

1/2 cup Chopped pecans (or nuts of choice)

1 tbsp Chia seeds

Wet ingredients:

¼ cup Coconut oil

½ cup + 2 TBS Maple Syrup

1 tsp Vanilla extract

1/4 tsp Nutmeg

¼ tsp Pink Salt

½ tsp Cinnamon

Honey (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375. Line parchment paper on baking sheet.

  2. Mix rolled oats, pecans and chia seeds in mixing bowl.

  3. Wisk all other ingredients in separate bowl.

  4. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients. Mix. Dont be afraid to use hands !

  5. Baked for about 20-30 minutes until lightly golden. Take out and mix every 10 minutes. Add a layer of honey the last ten minutes of baking for a chunky granola. (optional)

  6. Take out oven and let cool. Serve in smoothies, smoothie bowls, banana whips, cereal. Anything you like. Enjoy
